Yeah until he studied it, and then realized there was more to light than substance. It wasn't long before he figured out that it was an obsolete theory. In fact, Einstein's theory of special relativity was the final blow that gave the end to the Aether.

No, he did not. The theory of relativity disproved the idea that light propagated through an ether that permeated all of space.
