Anyone know what the white circle with what looks like a bird in it signifies on the tail unit of this Buccaneer?

ok, just found out, its a Javelin. For 'Bucaneer', read Javelin.

Henry S, that is clearly NOT a picture of a Blackburn Buccaneer. That IS a picture of a Gloster Javelin.

The tail marking is from RAF No. 23 Squadron, which converted to the Javelin in 1957. Here's a link for the squadron info:

As you can see, the squadron badge is that of an eagle preying on a falcon.

Interesting picture, you don't see or hear of the old Javelins anymore...........

Buccaneer???? you don`t have a clue of your aircraft!

Henry S, I worked with Buccaneers (809) on the Big-A long enough to know what a Buccaneer looks like, I don`t need little boys like you to tell me.......

@ Northern Lad : Looks like a Buccaneer to me. What do you think it is? oh, no suggestions. Shall we just call it a Buccaneer then?

Studying the filename gives me the clue that it might be a chicken hawk.

Not the answer your looking for, sorry, but it looks like the markings from the "Blackhawks" comic series.
