I know that Jesus wept when He was on earth, but what I'm really interested in knowing is if the Bible ever portrays GOD as sorrowful? weeping? crying? Please cite your reference if you can think of one. Thanks!

Following is an instance where God is spoken of as being hurt at his heart, when he regretted that humans, aside from Noah and his family, had become so corrupt that he was forced to take rightful action against them (the flood):

"Jehovah saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time. And Jehovah felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt at his heart.”—Gen. 6:5, 6.

Hope that helps!

I don't think so. I know that "Jesus wept" in John 11:35, but I don't think the Bible ever actually said "God cried" or "shed tears" or "wept". Of course, considering Jesus is supposed to be a mortal extension of God, it could be argued that anytime Jesus cried, it was actually God crying too as they are one in the same.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

Genesis 6:5-6

5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart

Yes. I think the book of Jeremiah was mainly about God punishing his people because they had rejected his laws and were making sacrifices to Baal. So God was going to punish them by letting their enemies ABSOLUTELY HAND THEM THEIR ***, but He didn't want to do it because he loved his people so much, so God was telling Jeremiah about it, to send a warning. I think God tells Jeremiah how he weeps at least once or twice. Let me go see if I'm right...yep, here it is. In Jeremiah, chapter48, verse 31, 32 and 36, God moans, weeps, and laments, (respectively).

Couldn't find it and don't ever remember God crying or weeping. You can do an online bible search though.

I can usually THINK of lots of verses Ive seen but FINDING them is more difficult. X took my good concordance but they are available in bookstores. God was sorry he flooded the world and the flood itself could have been Him crying and even every time it rains. The Indians believe that..

Yes. Before Noah's flood God is quoted that he was sorry that he made mankind.

Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. Whatever you have seen Jesus Christ do, you have seen God do because they are on and the same.
