A tangelo is a hybrid fruit, a blend of either tangerine or mandarin orange and either grapefruit or pomelo. The name is a combination of tangerine and pomelo. Generally a tangelo is sweeter and less acidic than an orange. Sometimes people who have trouble tolerating fresh oranges can eat tangelos without a problem.
