My daughter gets that red spot when she pulls a tick out. I have her wash it with soap and water, and put some neosporin on it. Then I tell her to keep an eye on it.
If the red spot doesn't go away within a day or so, or if it gets to be like a bulls eye, or you have flu like symptoms, fever, aches, chills, etc. go to the doc asap.
Also try and save the tick, we put them into a zip lock bag and into the freezer marked with day removed. I remember reading about that somewhere before we moved to Tickland, I think it's so they can see what kind it is if you develop any symptoms later.

If you haven't already disposed of the tick, put it in a plastic bag to take to the doctor. I would personally recommend visiting an ER or urgent care center if you cannot get into your physician's office ASAP. What you have described is characteristic of Lyme disease, a bacterial infection caused by tick bites. Early symptoms include fatigue, fever, chills, headache, muscle/joint pain, and a characteristic skin rash- a bullseye mark. Treatment is essential to prevent further and much more serious complications (arthritis, nervous system abnormalities, cardiac problems) and is simple- antibiotics. Please seek a medical opinion ASAP!

sounds like just a plain ole wood tick,,,, i usually get at least 12 of them on me whenever i go into the brush,,,, which i do quite often,,,,,,and going to the Dr. because of this is plain silly,,,, honestly, its an insect,,,, and do you go the Dr when an ant bites you, or a mosquito?....no, you don't.
you are fine,,,,, mix up a little meat tenderizer and water,,, and put it on the bite,,,, it will take the itch out and help the redness/swollen skin.
ticks were bad in alot of areas this year, but last year was even worse....... really bad.
Addition: i just read someone say to squeeze the bite area,,,
NO, do not ever squeeze a bite area,,, that is the worst thing you can do,,,, this will actually push any toxins that may exist there, into your blood stream very fast......
take a bar of soap,, and rub a little on the bite,,, and don't rinse the soap off,,, just let it dry on there.... this will help to draw out any toxins as well...... this works best for chigger bites/eggs

I've had ticks like that before. I wash the bite with soap and water, then pour alchohol over it and keep an eye on it. It will itch like mad, but it should fade off within the day.

What color was the tick?? If it had a yellow belly on it you would of been sick as hell right now. So it must of been a Brown tick or a Deer tick./
