I have read lots of scripture about the state of the dead, speaking of us being "alseep" (dead-physically), but what scriptures actually show that anyone is in heaven now? Other than Moses, Enoch, Elijah, ? Or do we not go directly to heaven? Maybe we are in the grave til Christ returns and then there is the ressurection, I thought that was just for the physical body, but am not finding anything that says part of us goes to heaven immeadiatly at death.
We are the dust of the earth and the "breath" (spirit) God breathed into us this is in genisis. That the dust & the breath together makes the soul, but one without the other there is nothing left.
I thought we had physical, spirit & soul?
I cant find that anywhere in the bible.
Also the bible says God alone is immortal, so this would support us not going directly to heaven. Im just trying to figure out the TRUTH of this matter.

Actually Luke chapter 16 is a parable, showing that Jehovah was removing the Jewish leaders (esp. the Pharisees) from their favored position.

It has no real bearing on the after life. Jesus parable cannot contradict the rest of the scriptures

You are right in what the bible teaches about sleep, and the dead being unconscious.

Ez 18:4 even goes as far as saying that the soul dies. Jesus said it can be destroyed.

At John 3:13 Jesus tells us that no man has ascended to Heaven prior to him.
So Moses, Enoch, Elijah are still in the tomb (John 5:28,29) awaiting a resurrection like everyone else.

Elijah, was sent to Judah and he later sent a letter to Elisha. 2 Chron 21:12-15.

Enoch was transferred so as not to see death, not taken to heaven

The only mention of immortality is for faithfulness.

Luk 16:19 ¶ There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
Luk 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
Luk 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
Luk 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Luk 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence.
