In a lot of the churches I have been in they all have seperated and split up because there is a lot of gossip in the Pentecostal churches... Now I have been a Pentecostal all my life, but I still dont get why there is a lot more gossip in Pentecostal's life than there are in people who dont go to church life. Can someone please just explain this to me?

Its that way in every church. They justify it by thinking there gossiping in Jesus name. In churches is where you will the majority of hypocrites.

Gossip isn't specific to Pentacostal churches. I know of two Baptist churches that are undergoing the same problem as we speak. The problem isn't even specific to churches.

Lack of leadership causes people to complain. If they don't feel comfortable with the leadership they complain to each other. This is the start of gossip. The leadership is out-of-touch with the congregation or they would address the issues.

Leadership is not an easy thing. There are many people who confuse leadership with domineering. Domineering makes people resent you, which leads to complaining behind your back, which leads to gossip.

Good leaders keep their ears open for concerns that the people they're in charge of may have. The don't blow-up in an angry tirade over the littleset criticism. They don't make radical changes just to satisfy one person. They address the issues appropriately, respectfully, and fairly. They don't try to impose their personal opinion but rather consider the existing rules and the needs of the specific situation.

Unfortunately, many organizations suffer from a lack of leadership.

Well... gossip isn't a sin... the reason gossip is around is becuase it is a natural human thing (we are naturally very curious)... also who else can we gossip about? Depending on the size of the church, gossip is normal... in small churches u generally know everything about everyone... it can be a problem but i like it

You will find gossip where ever you go. It is really unfortunate to find something like this in the church. It is probably one of the most effective tools used by the enemy.

Most times people use gossip as a way to hide there own problems.

There's gossip in any and all churches. I too grew up Pentecostal...but I don't remember it begin that bad. It probably depends on the church and pastor and whether he puts a stop to it or not

I think churches of all denominations have this problem. When I was growing up, we first went to a small country baptist church, which was overrun by gossip and hypocritical rules and regulations. Then, we went to a Church of Christ in Christian Union. There was gossip there, too.

I think it just happens anytime people get together, like someone else said.

Many people (not all) go to church to put on their pretend persona of being a good Christian. It is a facade and nothing more. The ones who gossip are usually the ones with the facade. Their lives are not all they are cracked up to be and they need to gossip about others to feel better about themselves. Don't judge them....just pity them.

They dont understand that gossip is the same as condeming someone. Im close to the penticostal church. Infact alot of people who have attended our church claim to be penticostal. Its not just them that do this. Its not right. You should just pray that your pastor give a good hard sermon on gossip. Good luck hun.

What is your definition of Pentecostal. Sound like the charismatic churches to me. A lot of them think they are pentecostal.
