Just by start talking to him. Do not come on too strong, you dont want to scare him. He'll show you if he's interested in you! Invite him a drink. by then he should show some sign if he is interested in you. Or tell him, It's too stuffy let's go outside! If he goes. You score!! By then he should be in charged!

if he will be at the party, just make u noticed by him. walk in front of him, smile to him. and then go to him and ansewer what's the time, where's the toillete and next flirt with him and it will be from it self....
but if u WANT TO GO WITH HIM TO THE PARTY call him and say the truth or say him that u want very much to go with him because u want to make nervous ur x-boyfriend- invent something EVERYTING WILL BE OK
