Do things that will increase heart rate. Do not over exercise as this can cause you to burn too many calories which is unhealthy. Cleaning house, moving furniture, mowing the lawn, laundry, walking, jogging, sit ups, pull ups, push ups, shopping, etc are all good exercises.

I think the most important thing is to find a type of work-out that fits your style and that you enjoy. I have found over the years that I need to change my workout from time to time to achieve the best results. My latest fitness plan which I started about a year ago is Krav Maga - it's a sort of street fighting style developed by the Israelis. I go for combat conditioning classes several times a week and Krav classes a few times a week. I lost 15 lbs and everyone tells me I look great. Previously I was more of a yoga and walking girl. Find what you like and commit to do it on a regular basis. That's the best way.

The best way to work out is with a vigourus and consisitant work out at least 2 or 3 times a week. If you REALLY want to get in shape I would recomend joining some kind of endurance sport, like a track or swim team. Other team sports will usually come with some kind of a conditioning program as well, so really joining in on any kind of sport is the best way to work out. It is also fun and a good way to make friends.

Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Also, don't forget that fitness is as much about nutrition.

So, eat fruits & vegetables.
No sugar
No sodas
No candy
No chips
No potatoes
No pasta
No pizza
no corn
no bread
no burgers
no fried foods

Good Luck

I think going to the pool and swimming is. Swimming excersizes the most muscles, when just running or weightlifting only gives a couple muscles a workout.

Be consistent!! the most convenient and easiest thing to do that you can do with only needing shoes and socks is walking and running--there is always somewhere to do that no matter what!
