Phillips DVD player?

I have a phillips 615 dvd player that is about four years old, it doesnt play good anymore but with it i could always record a dvd in it straight to another dvd on my recorder, but i bought a new phillips one and it does not let me
does anyone know of a new type of dvd player that still lets you record from dvd to dvd and doesnt come up with a copyright signal
It will let me record from dvd to vcr but not dvd to dvd or vcr to dvd, it comes up with a copyright signal
hope this makes sense and please help

You are trying to copy material that is copy-protected, and it is illegal to get around that.
