not quite sure what a 'tip' roast is, you must be american.
i think you are talking about a striploin which is the whole sirloin cut.
it should take around 15 minutes per pound if you want it pink, plus fifteen minutes extra. keep your eye on it though. if you want it more cooked(why i dont know) then make it 20 minutes per pound.
enjoy.
make sure you have it with yorkshire puddings and roasted potatoes and rich gravy and horseradish sauce

It should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. If it say a 5 pound roast I'd wrap it in foil and let it cook for about 6 hours at a medium height setting from the coals with the fat side down.

350 or 400
cook it until it registers 130 degrees tent with foil, and then rest it for ten minutes.
If you are using a timer, then about 15 min per pound. Watch the meat
as it starts to bleed is very rare
As it bleeds more is rare
Bleeding alot is medium rare
bleeding slows - medium
bleeding stops - well done

Not sure how big the roast is, but on low to low medium, depending on how well done u want, check 20 minutes with temp gauge, 175 in center is well done, also side heat works for me
