God offered us salvation through his Son, that all who believe may have eternal life.
What is death on earth to a divine being?
God didn't destroy those who threatened his Son because (among other reasons) if his Son did not die, humanity could not be saved. Jesus was sent in order to die for our sins. "Saving" Jesus' earthly life would mean that humankind would not be saved.

We all like to imagine God as love and, that, He is. What we find hard to believe is He is also a Judge that will send souls to a fiery pit. But He is a just God who will settle for nothing less than justice be served. We have men that judge us. Some do it justly. Some not so justly.Much depends on how much money one has today on how they turn out in the courtroom and that's a fact. But in the courtroom of God we are all treated the same, it's not about money. There no one will be accused falsely. We all will be guilty for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There has to be a price paid for the sins committed. Whether they be few or many, small or great. God being a just God demands that a price be paid for these sins. In His infinite love that goes beyond our understanding He sent His Son to pay this price. For whosoever will except Him as their Savior. God told Adam from the beginning that the day he partook of the forbidden tree that he would die, for the wages of sin is death. This is what Christ did for us. He paid the wages that we owed. A debt that we could not pay.

God's plan was to let Jesus die for us to save the sins of the world. Jesus is not God's son in the literal sense. He is a part of the Trinity, which comprises Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Therefore, Jesus IS God.
God does not just destroy us if we do not worship him. That's what free will is all about. It is said that everyone will be judged when they die....those who have worshipped God and have lived good lives will go to heaven....;)

The ransom was necessary as what was lost back in the garden of Eden was perfection. As Adam and Eve did not have children before they sinned there was no perfect offspring. They were now imperfect so had imperfect offspring.
No one could redeem us and buy back what was lost so we were in a death like state.
By Jesus giving up his perfect human life he equalled what was lost, like equalling scales.
The reason God did it this way is because a bigger issue had arisen when Adam and Eve rebelled.
The serpent/Satan had told them that they would be like God knowing good and bad, so otherwords could govern themselves. So Gods right to rulership and sovereignty had been called into question.
If God had just killed them all, the question of rulership under mans rule or under a theocracy would not have been answered.
But he has allowed us time to try all sorts of governments and rulerships to see that we do need him.
Don't forget there were myriads upon myriads of spirit creatures also looking on, so to kill adam and eve would have been unjust, and God is a God of rightousness and love, he is not a Tyrant.
That is why Jesus had to become a ransom sacrific.

jesus wasnt the son of god, yes he was a person maybe a good healer but thats all he was. I think that this was so long ago that it is no longer relevant, i think any religion has to move with the times and not be stuck in the past or it doesnt work for people now, i think christianity is a little like this, the bible and jesus it just doesnt work for me and i dont see a future for it.

God let Jesus die because that was the purpose for Him living. No, I would not have killed the people the rejected and threatened Jesus because if He said that we should not kill then why would He?Jesus purpose for dying was so that we may have a chance to know and believe in Him and if we believe that Jesus died in the place for our sins and if we confess those sins,we are saved by God's grace.

Sacrifice, Sacrifice, Sacrifice - CHRIST...
Does any of it make sense?
Why would we all be saved by the actions of 1 man...
Jessus's death was nothing more than a testimony of the truth - the Truth being man is an evil son of a *****.
If I was God I would strike down anyone wearing a cross as crosses are a symbol of the victor in the fight between Jesus and Rome...

Probably God wasn't that concerned because Jesus was his illegitimate son. God had not married Mary, after all, and Joseph had adopted Jesus as his. We never hear much about Joseph. Maybe, as a carpenter, Joseph made the crosses for the Romans. Now there's a thought.
Okay that's one fairy story dealt with - now for Hansel and Gretel ...

First, God is not a mortal human like you or I. God sacrificed his only son so that we would truly see his promise for us. God didnt seem to get through on anything else and this had to be done to show everyone more than words could of telling humans God would destroy us as an ultimatum. God had to take this measure for us to know his truth and promise for we dont always listen or care to listen. God gave us a chance and because of God's Grace we are here to have that chance. Abraham went to sacrifice his son and when he did God knew Abraham's true faith and he didnt have to sacrifice his son after all. God is amazing and I hope you see your answer now. God Bless you--

But that is exactly what the wonder of it is. God loved us so much that He gave His Son to die for us. God is a God of justice as well as a God of love, and he hates sin. Each of us has the opportunity to be reconciled with God, and find salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.
God had a plan of redemption, and we should be soooo grateful!
Gods ways are best. He is God! Who are we to question His ways. They are higher than ours.
