I planted some last year and there is alot in my garden right now. We are under a frost threat tonight and I hate to lose them. How do you dry them? I have never dried anything before, other than clothes. Thanks for you help.

I use to dry them... now I freeze them. Just as handy... wash them, cut them store them in ziplock bags in the freezer and break off a chunk when needed in sauces, salads etc... : )

drying them will lose their flavour as they are very delicate. anyways, dried chives are nowhere as good as fresh ones, i suggest freezing them instead, you can do this with most herbs, basil works especially well
