I love Ramen noodles, I buy them by them in bulk. I've never tried hot sauce......sounds great though.

I love ramen noodles when I backpack into the wilderness. Light weight makes them easy to carry. I also get some chicken fresh eggs, they don't need to be refrigerated for a while. While the noodles are boiling in the water I crack open and drop in a fresh egg and some oregano...love it. Like egg flower noodles. My favorite. I like other versions too. Also love linguine and udon.

I love Ramen noodles! I have a whole box of it all different flavors. I make mine with hot dogs and with lots of vegetables in it. And add a lot of hot sauce to make it extra spicy hot.

Well, if your user name is the language I think it is, you'll understand when I tell you that I like ramen, but I REALLY like pho bo tai nam sach. :-) And yes, some tuong ot toi is AWESOME in any noodle dish. I've never put bay leaves in it (are you sure you mean bay leaves? That's a tree called laurus nobilis, native to the Mediterranean and also a related species found in California...) I put in basil (could that be what you mean?), cilantro, bean sprouts and sliced green chiles, plus a squeeze of lime. Mmmmmmm.....
My 9-year-old son could LIVE on shrimp ramen -- even the freeze-dried cup noodle variety. And he likes it with three dashes of Crystal brand Louisiana hot sauce in it.
For proper ramen, I like shoyu ramen with katsu -- thin slices of roast pork in a soy-sauce flavored broth. A few slices of naruto or kamaboko, some pickled shinachiku root, minced scallions and it's great. (I don't care for raw egg stirred in, I like the clear shoyu broth best.)
To serve it, I like to sprinkle shichimi on my ramen. Shichimi -- also called togarashi -- is a mix of crushed red pepper, black sesame seeds, and chopped seaweed. It's GREAT on ramen, as well as on rice, donburi, and udon (the big, chewy, fat noodles also used in Japanese noodle soup). It's good on buckwheat soba, too, for that matter.
And Phuong... if you have not yet seen the Juzo Itami film "Tampopo," go out and get it TONIGHT. It's a comedy about a Japanese truck driver who stops in a crummy dive to get a bowl of hot ramen on a cold rainy night, and ends up helping the woman who owns it on a spiritual quest for perfection in the pursuit of the perfect ramen recipe. It's WONDERFUL... but be prepared to serve or order ramen within 30 minutes of the end credits. Itadakimasu!

Blech, LOL. Not a big fan. I prefer "Simply Chinese" chili and garlic noodle. I add asparagus and sweet red peppers.
