I can speak two, English and Latin (though its a "dead" language its still useful)....most people in my family can speak at least two, though they are all different (like, my uncle speaks English and French but my other uncle speaks English and Spanish)......but the person who speaks the most is my mom's boss. He speaks 5 languages.....Hebrew, Arabic, English, Indian, and Spanish. So, how many can you speak or somebody you know speak?

im from malaysia but i look chinese..so i understand speak, write and read malay reasonable fluently. Tetapi (but) since i was born into a primarily english speaking family, my whole family more or less spoke in english although it wasn't proper english, it was either slang or mix malay and englis. I would say that i speak malay quite okay but then when im in malaysia i would rather speak in english, experince had thought me to speak in english but if im in a situation where no one understands english then i speak malay. Here in Melbourne, i'm learning how to speak, read, write and make myself understood in italian..its hard. Next year i will continue with my italian but only if there's a class running. Learning a languange is extremly difficult, it takes a lot of patience and persistance, i knowit from first hand. When i first migrated to australia 3 years back, i took up french then drop it for italian...sometime next year or this year, i will have to take a test regardiung my indonesian language skills cos i want to do it at year 12 level...

I speak GCSE level Latin, Italian and Spanish. I speak French to A Level. And English, obviously! I love learning about other cultures and languages - I love travelling and learning more about the world.

Latin may be "dead" but it's so useful when learning other languages such as Italian. Not to mention how impressive it looks on CVs and such.

I'm French so I speak fluently my mothertongue(!), I'm fluent in English, my dad is fluent in Italian (we live in a border town), my mum speaks Occitan quite fluently, I learned German (but i'm not so good) and a friend of mine is learning Simplified Chinese. Of course when I say I can speak a language, I mean exactly that (I don't "speak a language" because I know how to say "hi" and "bye").
