I was going to him chiefly for anxiety, and at one point during a session he responded to something I said with even my patients in the psychiatric hospital are not that crazy, another time I was not able to make it in to a blood lab for a blood test and he again compared me with past patients, by telling me that I was not so important, and that he had had patients who barely functioned on their own and they could manage to get their blood tests. Needless to say I have stopped going to him, but how can I make sure he is punished for his unprofessionalism and that he is banned from medicine so he can't verbally abuse patients anymore - patients who had originally trusted him to make them better. (Btw, if there is enough interest in knowing who he is, I can open my email through Answers and email those interested, with the name, so they can avoid him...)

What the ^&&*^?? Who the hell are you to diagnose me?? Did I ask for that?? I read in another of your posts that you are an ER nurse. Geez, with an attitude like that, I am so thankful you never treated me. Besides, what's this to you. Why are you so defensive?? What gives?? Btw, I reported you for your obnoxious answer to this post. So there, hah; what do you have to say about that?

1)Libel is not punishable by prison, only by a fine.
2) I didn't say I wanted to take away his license, I want the authorities to.
3) You dumbass, I am trying to protect people, by offering this guy's name, so that they don't fall into the same trap of entrusting themselves to his psychologically sadistic care.
4) You really have no idea how it can **** you up if you trust a doctor with your mental health and he makes light of it and then makes it worse.
5) Have you ever thought that besides him suing me for defamation, I could be suing him also, for malpractice, for intentional infliction of emotional harm, etc...

That was cruel but......I work for a group of doctors and they are human too. Find the manager of his practice and write them a letter. A mature, responsible letter otherwise it will not be taken seriously and then the manager will approach him. If there is not a manager, write him, again, without getting too emotional. Just to the point! You may get an apology you may not. Either way, get help elsewhere. Not every psychologist is right for every person. Not all personalities mesh. Do not let him being a jerk ruin you though. That is the most important thing to remember. Doctors can be jerks too! Also, do not let this set back and his personal opinion make you think less of you. He may have just been having a bad day and took it out on you. That is not your fault! Remember that!

Well, Joseph, as this is by no means your first question, and at one stage you mentioned suicide, I think you may need to get your priorities sorted. If you report him for unprofessional behaviour, that's one thing, and it's through the right channels, which will open up an in-depth investigation into your case history. Secondly, you have invited people to contact you and you will advertise his name. That is illegal and he can sue you irrespective of whether you believe he is professional or not. If you say anything which identifies him that is slander and if you place his name into any public forum like this one, it is libellous and punishable by a prison term. You cannot have him banned from practising his professional career, only a board can do that, so I think it might be a good idea if you follow this up the legal way. To avoid legal action against you, I suggest you engage legal counsel for advice on what course of action to take.

Unfortunately, when I'm a patient, I'm a pain in the Butt (Y/A won't let me say Ar$e). When I'm given "happy" medicine, I am a pain! I ramble on about anything & everything, including how I'm supposed to be at John Adams inauguration in Yugoslavia. When I come out of Anesthesia from surgery, I an a pain because I am kinda ornery to the Nurses until I'm completely coherent. I'm gonna make a great old man someday.

You need to find out the regulatory body in your area, make an official complaint down the correct channels. Write down everything you can remember, be as specific as you can.
Try not to be too subjective but if it's relevant, make reference to how it made you feel in relation to the reason you went to see him. If he made your problems worse, he is not doing his job. Regardless of how many other people he sees and how bad they are, when you are in the room, his primary interest should be your well-being.
You personally shouldn't seek to exact your own revenge directly as you may wind up in jail or worse. Pursue this through the regulatory government body, any organisations he belongs to etc.
If you do this right, you could find out you're not alone.
Best of luck,
froggie

I'd go to the local medical board, the American Psychological Association and I might take it to a lawyer who specializes in mal practrice.
As in every professions there are good ones and bad ones and if this is accurate he sounds like he's not the best practioner.

Report him if you do not than he get's away with it. Until people stand up for the wrong doing's the doctor's who are bad will continue to get away with it. I think it could also help you with your own problems, because you will be standing up for yourself...
Who is this doctor anyway's...It sounds like Dr. House...

A Junior High School Answer: Toss eggs at his car and house.
(NOT what I recommend) :)
Adult answer: Write him a long letter explaining how you feel about him being unprofessional. Contact the licensing place where he gets his license to practice and make a formal complaint.

He's not going to lose his license for making poor comments; so my suggestion would be to just MOVE ON......There are sh*t therapists out there but what are you going to do, report them all? I had a psychiatrist tell me that I was crazy---I STOPPED GOING TO HIM.
RELAX, MOVE ON.
