I think that anger management does not work for me. I have gone through it four times and I am not getting better. Last night I got arrested for assault again, and luckily I made bail; I can't go on this way and don't want to. Do you think I should see if I can get into Patton or Ward B for psych help? I mean, the last thing to set me off today was when I found out that one of my favorite users was suspended- and I totally let this affect my real life. Can you help? Any advice is appreciated.

First of all, what are you angry about? That is what you have to deal with first. I lost my home to a hurricane, husband to gambling, job to stress from this, etc., etc., and I was soooo mad. I let it rule my life until someone said to me "they are winning" The people that you are angry at are doing just fine and it is ruining your life. SO TRUE. I began to make new friends, pray and more than anything else, began to help others. I started to work for a cancer clinic and realized that there are so many others worse off then myself and it worked! I am not angry any more. So first, be honest with yourself and others and say what is really making you mad! That is the first step! Good luck!

I think it would help if you sought treatment through a mental health service they are very good with what they do. I spent time in a mental health hospital on two different occasions and did really well once they found the right treatment for me.

If anger management doesn't work maybe you should see a therapist. There may be a subconscious issue that triggers your anger.

go talk to a counselor. There may be some pills to help you control this also. It might help to try and be around some different people that help to keep you calm also and that are not helping to get you into trouble.
