i'm trying to figure out what i want my first car to be. it's a year and a half till i can get one but it has to be pretty cheap so probably used! i would perfer a small car or small suv!

I'd go with a small compact car that gets good gas mileage.

go to your local convience store and pick up a auto trader, and any other auto classiefied newspapers you find. they're only like a dollar or so (sometime free)
that way you can get a price range on the kind of vehicle you want.
for now I'd just save up, you've still got some time before you should worry about getting a car! :D ... try passing the written test first before anything hah.
good luck with everything though.. .I'm 16 and got my temps in July--it took me two tries until I got it.

Get something you can afford. Dont forget the high price of gasoline today. You also have to fiqure what your insurance will cost. Usually a used car will also need more maintenance or repair than a new car. Just be sensible & you will be fine.

Keep your eye on the brize,Baby! I started working @ age 15. @ age 16 I bought a new 96 Chevy 2 dr Blazer,it had 100 miles on it.Save your money dont buy anything unless you really really need it.Also put your money in a credit union.
