...does Christ give instruction to Peter to start his Church and where does it explain the structure the Church should have. What was the name of the Church supposed to be? If you know, I'd love the verses.

In Matthew 16:17-18 Jesus tells Peter that upon this rock I will build the church. The rock refers to Jesus who is the the builder of the church, the owner of the church, and the one who gurantees the survival of the church. The church is not a building but The christians who have accepted Jesus as Saviour. As far as I know Peter never preached in a certain church or ever built a church building. Peter was one of the disciples who first took the message of salvation to the lost. On the Day of Pentecost when the disciples recieved the Holy Spirit there were 3000 saved when Peter spoke to them.

Matthew 16:18 Jesus told Peter,"Upon this Rock I will build my church". Some people say that Jesus was building His church upon Peter. This is not so, Peter was call the "little Rock" Jesus is call the Rock and Jesus was talking about Himself. Jesus didnot name His church anything. If we search we find that the churches were call the Church at(What ever town it was in). Revelation2: Jesus address the Churches and He calles each church the Church at (What ever town it is in) The Church that Jesus is coming back to get is the, Body of Believers.

All through the gospels Jesus talks about telling his disciples that they must witness after he is gone, but in Matthew:16 he tells Peter to start it. The name was given in another language, probably Hebrew, but it is always translated church. Just church. It doesn't explicitly explain the structure, although I would suggest reading Paul's epistles, since he wrote them to churches. Hopefully some of this helps.

I'm not for sure what verses it is but check in 1st Peter...It will probably be in the middle of1st Peter. But god told Peter to build him his home (the church) on the top of a rock not on a grain of sand because it would fall...
