opening you heart to anyone means you will give all to them. You are now under their full control and your life is now theirs. Give your time and your money to your god at your church so to speak. Work your job for god so you can invest more stocks (your money) in god. No when does god come collect his cut of the cash and how much of it should the precher get? Is the prechers cut 50- 50 with god or maybe more like 95% to the precher and 5 % to the poor or the ones neededing money. Seems that god don't get any part of it.. Or is the precher god? That is more like it. The precher of the church is god. Don't you religious types think the Pope is a GOD? You do know he is just a person like anyone else. He was just able to work the scam a little better then the rest of you.

Do not open your heart to religion. It only means you are opening your pocket book and your money will just buy the precher a new limo to ride in. Prechers do need fine wine too you know. It is in the bible that they must drink wine.

Nobody gave a real answer to your question. Im not either, sorry. But dear asker, have you considered the sacrament of communion? It is practiced in some form by most protestant churches, and is not biblically founded. Emerson wrote an interesting sermon on the subject, 'The Lords Supper' before leaving the pulpit. Id bet youd enjoy it. Cricket, Ive read a couple of your response, and they have all been thoughtful and well written. But I do hold that we should ensure that all our doctrine is biblically based. The unexamined life is not worth living, the same is true of unexamined faith. I see people gave Hames a thumbs down? Why would you do that? His answer is not low quality! Its thoughtful and addresses yalls comments if not the question per se,

"Don't be a fence sitter." God wants you ALL on His side. Do not hover in the grey area. Decide where you stand and fully commit yourself to doing His will. The more you open your heart to Him, the more He can bless you.

To seek Him with all your heart is to honestly search for Him, nothing wavering, with full intention to obey Him and His commandments.

When you pray, concentrate on your praying. Don't think about anything else. Never give the God shape or imagination because he is beyond our imagination.

It means to love God with everything that's in you, all facets of your life. Don't be distracted with anything else, don't put anything else you love before him. Don't hold anything back. Just devote everything to loving Him.
