If you build your life and morals around an organized religion you are a pawn in general... mainly for your weak mind and weak will.
The game is not a battle between good and evil tho... its a game of power and control and money. Not nearly as noble as chess.

The thing about religion is that we all know when we sin. It's not a game but it is life. God made all of us and it is up to us to live good lives and then be judged. Greatness is just a standard God expects, which is where most people on this Earth will fail on.

On the contrary, I do not blame anyone but myself for my actions. I believe the Lord wants me on His side equally as much as Satan wants me on his side. The challenge of this life comes in all of the little decisions we make each day that really "decide" whose team we are on. (Are we honest, helpful, kind, loving OR selfish, backstabbing, rude...)
The true blessing is that the Lord allows us to repent and be forgiven of our sins, allowing us to again join with him. The Devil makes no such concessions. He wants our souls and will do any kind of tempting necessary to obtain them.
Do we sit on a chess board? More like in the middle of a grand adventure...the great thing is, we have the map and we get to choose where we go. The Lord blessed us with free agency, and we get to use it. If we screw up our lives, it is our doing, and not anyone else's fault.
If life is a chess game, my prayer is that the Lord knows I am on His side and He will use me in whatever way will do the most good.

WE are not pawns as you suggest for this reason:
In a game of chess the 2 players are equal and the pawns are pawns to be sacrificed as and when necessary.
Ultimate Good is God.
The Devil, who represents evil is merely one of God's creatures who rebelled against him and has been granted respite until the Day of Judgement. He is not an equal player with God.
We are here as a test, specially designed for us, and not as pawns.

No, not a pawn in a game.
The earth is a battleground for human souls. In this, the war is waged in individuals' souls.
If I were a pawn, I wouldn't have choices. But I do have choices. I blame nothing on God or Satan, but I do see their influences in my and others' lives. Each makes an offer. It is up to me which offer I take.

I do not blame good or evil for my actions or for whatever happens to me. I am very ... Christian but very spiritual. GOD transcends good and evil... As I said elsewhere good and evil only compliment and define each other. Without one, the other doesnt exist there simply IS.
Isaiah 45.7 - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things...
When man kills, its EVIL...when GOD kills its justified and GOOD.
There is more to it all than what you see...
God is good and just and awsome...Fair, truth and love...its all for a higher purpose than i can say in a few sentences....

God is love and God is pefect and sinless..... Man has sin....There are good men who love God and Jesus and serve God and Jesus.... No man is perfect, we all sin...Even these good men that serve God will sin at times... There are also some good men that maybe do not believe in God and Jesus.... Jesus loves all men and allows men to freely accept Him or to freely reject Him... Being good, is not the requirement for eternal salvation....So these Good men that do not believe in God and Jesus will perish if someday they never change their mind....Not all men that say they are Christians are actually "saved born again Christians"... These men may be going to church for other reasons than "serving god"... Unfortunately there can be very bad people that can do bad things even though they say they are Christians... God knows the hearts of Mankind... There are hypocrites in all walks of life not just the church.....True faith in God comes when one accepts Jesus is God and that Jesus died for our sins and rose again on the third day.....
Good and evil are real in this world....As a Christian, I have a basis to believe in this existence.....God is good...God is sinless.... Satin sinned against God and is the father of lies.... Satin enjoys evil.... God hates evil....
There are cases where someone will have a very bad experience with a Christian..... From that bad experience, they form doubts about God...... To learn the truth about God brings peace and joy into ones life.... Man may dissappoint us but God is faithful and true... Heaven will be without sin.....Heaven willl be without evil..... Satin does not want people to believe in God..... This is a true struggle.....
It comes down to faith in Jesus.... Once you become a believer in Christ it will give you a sense of truth... Sometimes man fails, even men who say they are "religous".... Cult leaders will create "pawns" in peoples reactions as in a chess game.... False religions will create "pawns".....But true faith in Jesus and God will bring wisdom to a mans heart......
After Jesus was resurected, he gave the great mission to his disciples to go and tell others about Him.... This mission is still alive nearly 2000 years later.....There are good true believing pastors today that love Jesus and teach God word in truth..... Believing in Christ and joining such a church will keep you from being made a "pawn"....
The world system of various false beliefs will try to discredit the truth that God and Jesus offers....

No. My relationship with God transcends religion. Religion allows me to feel unity with others who wish to worship God in the same manner as I do.

nope, i dont think this, im pagan:
1) i dont believe in the devil, he doesnt exist so i cant blame stuff on him! satan was an archangel who challenged peoples faith to get them closer to the divine/god
2) I believe in karma and that what we do is our own decisions and our reincarnations are a chance for us to learn each time round from previous mistakes and evolve our spirits.
I dont think any 'blame' is needed stuff that we see as bad may be needed to see what is good and aim to be more like the good stuff
