Here's what happened: I started out with a book and couldn't do jack with it. So, i made some modifications to get a consistent swing. One modification I made was to lock my knees. After a month or two, I was able to get a really straight, consistent ball flight. But, I plateaued and couldn't improve anymore. So, I bought another book and tried to incorporate the knee bend into my swing. Suddenly, I couldn't hit anything.

The main problem I have with the knee bend is that i pop up or move down during the swing, and either top or turf the ball. How do you avoid this?

Thanks in advance.

You watch the bottom back of the ball. Use that to keep your body in position. The flex in the knee must be maintained during the swing. The left knee will move forward as you rotate right on your back swing. The flex and gap between the knee should remain constant. To accomplish this you do need to keep your head down and relatively still, maintain your spine angle and rotate your hips & shoulders on a level plane (do not rock your shoulders). Do note that a hook is often caused by over rotating the right arm over the left so as to produce a rapidly closing club face.

ok..... we have to pretty fix your entire swing.

Pre meditation: In golf as in many other sports your power will generate from your hips then to shoulders. correct motion and clean contact will equal longer and straighter shots.

- Youre feet should be shoulders length apart
- Knees slightly bent
- Shoulders leaning forward slightly past your toes
- By now despite your foot being flat on the ground most of the pressure should be on the ball of you foot. Being on the ball of youre feet flex's your calf, hamstring and quad muscles.
Now TO the Swing

grip the club and swing AROUND in an up ward motion. Dont just lift the club straight up. remember you want to hit the ball from behind not on top of it. Youre BENT knees and hips will slightly rock back AS you swing. now practice youre swing keep youre head down, keep youre knees bent, dont straight lift up, and stay low.
Now Stop youre swing at it's highest point.
If youre right handed the following should be happening:

- youre left shoulder shoud be pointing to the ball
- you are looking at the ball over youre left shouder
- youre left arm is at a 90 degree angle
- youre right arm is behind you at a 45 degree angle as if you were flexing youre bicept.
- both hands are pointing in the direction behind youre head.
- With the club following behind youre head.
- Youre knees and hips are leanig back.
Now bring youre swing forward in the same manner that you brought it back. Swing throught the ball taking youre hips forward as you complete the swing. Remember youre forward motion swing is an exact replica of youre backward motion swing . So when you come forward dont pick ur head up (youll top the ball) or try to dig lower (youll hit the ground to far back), keep it the same.
Dont get discouraged. Dont try to custumize it to much
Just keep practicing until the swing becomes natural. It might take a while because youre body has to get used to it. When you have it youll feel it.

Good Luck

The simpliest advice I can give you considering you situation is to have a swing that feels natural to you. There is so much conflicting advice out there because everyone different, built different, and swing different. Since it sounds like you had a good consistent swing at one point, try to go back to that and work on making that swing as efficient as it can be.

when my hubby a very good golf player tried to teach me how to hit a ball and do all this complecated stuff with bending knees and keeping them locked and also taking care of the golf club that it doesn't go too far behind and yada yada yada i couldn't hit anything. i was amaized how people re able to hit any balls at all when they have to think about all those bending knees and not bending arms. so here what i did:
i forgot about he told me and went on the training field and tried just to hit the ball without bending arm. and u know what? after i learned how to hit the ball correctly with stright left arm i accidentially learned how to bend knees and keep them locked without swinging. after that i could regain control about posture. so my advice do everything gradually - forget about locking knees, just concentrait on arms and hands and hitting ball. after u learn that everything happens by itself. good luck, hope i was any help

properly, why no longer? basically take care that you bath on your third day or later because the 2d day is honestly the biggest day by using very undeniable reality that it is the day the ovum is released and obviously in case you bath contained in the first day your era may thoroughly cease for the comprehensive month or come again the following days or perhaps weeks and it truly is because the blood stress isn't as reliable and is truly stopped. with the help of adventure i might want to allow you to know that the proper day to bath is the third because the blood stress remains truly reliable and the ovum has already been released.

maintain your right leg position throughout the backswing. don't let your right knee extend or bend and don't let it sway out. this is really important because 1) you pivot around your right leg so keeping your leg stationary keeps your swing on path and 2) you generate power by coiling like a spring which you unleash in the downswing. if the right knee moves on the backswings, your coil will be dissipitated and you will have no power.
