sweeping generalizations are the stamp of prejudice.
They are carried forth on the wings of ignorance!

Not all Pentecostals are cold acting and snobby just those who go to a church that has a lot of gossip. Believe me I know, I went to a church like that where the pastor was old and acted like his preaching was a job not a gift.. and There was a lot of gossip, now I am at a different Pentecostal church and nobody there is cold and snobby. So dont think all Pentecostals are cold and snobby.

There are all kinds of people who are cold acting and snobby, not just Pentecostal, I'm sure. Quit generalizing.

Most of the Pentecostals I've met have been very warm and receptive. I was raised in a Pentecostal church, and every church that the youth group visited was great. Even in my parents' home church, people went out of the way to greet anyone who was new to the congregation and invite them back. Though I'm a different religion, now, it's because I find that the beliefs aren't right for me, not because of the people.
Often, fundementalist children are taught to not associate with people "of the world", because they're afraid they'll be corrupted. The people you met could just be wary of you. If you prove that you're not a threat, they'll be more welcoming.

I am pentecostal and I do not act this way. Neither do any of the other people I attend church with. You may be confusting them with the charismatics who think that they are pentecostal. This would be the name it and claim it crowd, and the once saved always saved people. Not truly pentecostal according to what scripture has to say about Pentecost.

I was once a pentecostal, and glad I finally got away. Not all, but many pentecostals think they have all the answers and everyone else is wrong, and basically, going to hell. They're pompous and fail to follow the basic law of Jesus: love thy enemy. Just look at Jim Baker and the PTL club, Jimmy Swaggart, and Pat Robertson to get an idea of the Pentecostal life--they all have their own personal agendas. They are quick to critisize, but fail to live a life of love and caring.

Not all are that way. and its not only Pentecostals that are.Ive seen many nondenominational church's like that. Also Catholic and Baptist. It probably depends on the pastor and the congregation. The best thing to do is forgive them .pray for them and ask God to help you find some place good.

Untrue, I know some great Pentecostals, even though I don't believe the way they do.

Because they are religious. But please, let's try not to be general. I'm sure there are some very sincere, kind and well meaning Pentecostal people.

Because they are self righteous and beleive they are the only ones with a hot line to God. They also do not like to associate with others unless they are walking and talking the same path as them. They fear you may corrupt their lily white reputation. However, the bottom line here is fear. Anyone that is cold, distant, and snobbish is operating from the ego mind, not the love of God which they very adamantly try to stuff down others throats at times.

Some, not all. Those who are have been taught to avoid people who disagree with their particular leader, as not being "holy" enough. Some groups (not all) develop a real "us against them" mentality. Which is a strange idea, since Christianity is all about reaching those who *aren't* in a church...
