Christians believe in a heaven and a hell, and I can se why they wouldn't want people to go to hell, so they try to convince others out of love for the fellow man. Muslims believe that if you don't believe in their religion you're an infidel, so they try too convert others. and other religions also try to convince in order to try to save people from punishment, but if you're an atheist, or don't believe in an afterlife, what is the point of trying to convince someone who is happy and peaceful in their religion that there is no afterlife? If there is no afterlife or god like you say, nothing really matters in thts world, so why bother?
(I'm a christian by the way, and I just was wondering what your think was.)

Any religion that has the end of the world as it's ultimate goal is a threat to Humanity and must be resisted, under-mined, and destroyed if possible to save us as a species.

If you do not believe it is right for Atheists to try to "convert" Christians, why is it ok for Christians to try and convert Atheists. Both groups have rights to believe what they do, I am happy and peaceful in my beliefs. Just because I'm Atheist does not mean I am not happy. I can't go through one day without having to experience some sort of religious saying or message. I get on the train and there are these people screaming Jesus this and Jesus that, but I have never heard one Atheist doing the same. I don't want to hear about that on my train ride but there they are shoving it in my face. On every other street there is a Jehovah's witness trying to hand out their literature. On Sundays they invade my home and insist on my listening to their beliefs. It is not the Atheists are the ones trying to "convert" here. Give me a break!

Because a lot of atheists are rebelling against the way they were raised. Many atheists were raised in homes where they were told they had to be Christian, they weren't allowed to ask questions or try to reason things out on their own, and they really didn't have any religious freedom whatsoever. So they have a big backlash and a lot of bitterness against the Christian community - and that's perfectly understandable.
It's really annoying to constantly see their anti-God posts but they're having a natural reaction to attempted brainwashing.
I'm a Christian, but I really dislike most Christians. They believe some preacher's interpretation of the Bible and don't read it for themselves and come to their own conclusions, then try to force other people to live life the way they believe that the Bible says they should live it. They ought to pick it up once in a while and read it with an open mind, then we wouldn't have so many people who are backlashing.

Simple. We try our best t make you understand that you are wasting your life and your money. That Religion is just a means of controlling power and of getting money. Power and money is an easy thing to get when using religion. People seem to want to believe in the scam.
I can not allow good people to be scammed being it by someone trying to get your credit card number and posing someone they are not.. With religion you see all of the traits of a scam. You con people into believing in a higher power that you claim to have been in contact with and that this higher power needs money and them to get more people to give more money. If they do not believe in your belief then you force them to live by it anyway. If they still will not comply with the belief they must be killed as to not allow them to convert others.
Religion is very evil and has no place in the good of man kind or in the good of animals either. Animals are viewed by religion as noting having a sole. What makes one being better then an other be they are human or other?
Oh, and for the best in me I can't think of one war that did not have something to do with religion. Religion = WAR.
That is why I want religion to be eradicated.
For those of you that don't understand the word..
eradicate
to get rid of completely or destroy something bad:
The disease which once claimed millions of lives has now been eradicated.

i dont try to convert anybody. i understand why theist try to convert atheist to their religion but the same goes "what is the point of trying to convince someone who is happy and peaceful in their religion [or beliefs]?" there is a point when people go to far to try to convert me, so i push back with my beliefs. i am more than happy to have debates or conversations, but my goal isnt to convert everybody, or (to quote a christian) "remove the blinders that are preventing you from seeing the truth".
there are plenty of things that matter to me in this world, it just happens not to be god or afterlife.

You say that "If there is no afterlife or god like you say, nothing really matters in thts world." You have it completely backwards.
If there is an eternal afterlife, then the crimes and injustices of this life are temporary and negligible. However, if there is no afterlife, then this one is all that we have. Crime and injustice must be prevented because there will be no eternal reward to compensate those who suffer them.

I choose to NOT practice any religion and I have nothing against any religion neither. I don't try to convert to any religion.Nor do I try to convert anyone. It's the bible thumpers on here trying to convert people. They need to let people believe in what they want to and stop trying to convert people. Cause they dont wish to hear them!

Atheists believe that this is our only life, and that it would be a shame to spend your entire life believing a myth. We care for the future of humanity, and want humans to finally grow up and base their world view in reality instead of the fearful and illogical views of tribal people who lived in the bronze age.
