I didn't know that they should.
My ring and my husband's are exactly the same band, just different sizes, so they cost the same. What cost more is the diamond on my finger and the wrap around it :-)
Many times the bride's ring is fancy while the man's is plain.
She didn't get/want a separate engagement ring, or the band is ornate to match the engagement ring.
It's up to the couple about what they want to get. If she wants a diamond eternity band and he can afford it, then buy it. I don't see any reason to spend more than you can afford. I don't see any reason why you would have to spend more on hers if you didn't want to. There is no "should" here, it's about "want" and affordability.

Unless the girl wants diamonds on the wedding ring, the groom's ring is more expensive than the brides.

Often it is because the bride's ring is a lot fancier and therefore a lot more work. My ring is platinum with engraving and six tiny diamonds set into it. My fiancé's is titanium with a platinum band in the middle - so a cheaper metal on the whole and without engraving or diamonds.

Thats not always the case, you choose a ring you like not for the price necessarily but for what you like, and no law says the grooms has to be less

It shouldn't be and doesn't have to be. Gold bands are usually pretty equal in price; it's when you get to the diamonds or gems that there's a price difference. Usually it's the engagement ring that runs more pricey - but again, it doesn't have to. Lots of women don't like a big rock! It's the idea that it's from her man!

It doesn't always have to be more expensive, it just depends on what the guy wants. Mine is 300 and my fiance's is 275. I saw ones for him that were over 1000 dollars. I guess it just depends on what your bride likes/wants.

Because she will need to hock it for the deposit on a new house when the groom does a runner with the chief bridesmaid
