What are the Italians preference?

Question

I mean, like in America people tend to love the "tall, dark, and handsome/beautiful" type of person because its exotic like. However, most in Italy are tall dark and handsome/beautiful. So, what are Italians preference in men/women.

lol, I have a feeling I'm going to get answers that say "don't generalize" or "its not what is on the outside, but the inside"...or something to that nature.

I'm an Italian woman, so I'll try to answer this as far as my knowledge goes. It is true that Italian men have a definite fascination for the foreign woman...American, Scandinavian, German, South American...they all are exotic enough to attract their attention. It is also true that they definitely do not think that American women are too thin, being the American woman on average twice as tall and big as the average Italian woman.

Of course, any Italian man would go for the model Type if he could choose, but he would rather pick Cindy Crawford over Kate Moss, liking the curvier type.

For sure they like their women fit, with firm bodies, but a few curves, especially in the upper part, are always appreciated (many men have a real fixation with big breasts...).

Luckily enough for us, however, they end up marrying the average Italian girl: short, brown haired, and cicciottella!!!

I don't get why a dark haired white man would be exotic in America, I watch many American TV shows and I see any kind of man, you're not all blonde and pale...America isn't like Scandinavia at all.
Here in northern Italy most people have fair complexion and look like central Europeans, someone resemble Scandinavians.
Having said that, millions of Italians don't have the same tastes. Some Italian men love brunettes, some love blondes, some love thin girls, some love curly ones, some love light skin, some love dark skin and so on.
Personally I disagree with Pierluisa, I'm from northern Italy, the average woman here is thin or normal weight, none in my family is cicciottella (which means FAT or with 30-50 pounds to lose), I'm blonde haired, thin, I'm not short and my Italian husband loves me very much.
A friend of mine is even too much thin, she's tall 175 cm, her husband loves her.
I don't see that large amount of short and cicciottella here in northern Italy.

I have family in Northern Italy and Sicily. Northern Italians tend to have light hair mostly blond to light brown and fair skin. Sicilians are the Italians who are tall and dark. So it would be fair to say that they have different taste in looks. One thing I do know is that they all seem to think American women are generally to skinny. They like curvy women.

well, i m Italian i can help you although my English isn't so good...
men like tall dark-hair girls too, we say "men prefer blonds but marry darks"...however about boys, I am a girl i think boys with brown hair and green eyes are the best, in general we like tanned, tall boys...

The race, the color of eyes and hair is not important.

thin, outspoken women with tight little butts is what most of'em like but being american helps. Italians are known to be ladies' men and most of them would like just about any healthy, nice girl.

lots of different tastes around. Though, per my experience, i avoid italian men. Hearing calling MOM (ahhh, mammamia!!!) at "crucial times" is not on top of my priorities/preferences... I'd call it a deal breaker.
