Sounds like you don't want to compete, but want to do backyard play? Either way, there should be dog lessons in your area which would get you started. Most people in beginner lessons don't plan to compete, but want to have fun and bond with their dogs. I had only planned to play at it and found some websites devoted to us end, by searching. No longer remember the sites. Sometimes it's hard to find training classes. I found people don't advertise in Yellow pages. You might want to attend a trial, then you can ask people where to train. That way you also get a feel for who you want--and don't! I found some trainers this way. People are very happy to talk to you there. You can find a trial in your area, by going to akc.org or nadac.com (there's more, but this is a start) and go to a part that has agility events calendar. It'll give you a trial secretary and email. You can also, ask them. I asked a person once and got a lot of helpful info. Some books helped me get ideas for makeshift equipment, but you'll also need to learn where to start and how to. But that's for another question! Also, there's numerous agility groups at yahoo groups. You can find one appropriate for your location and I know they would help you find training.

Depends what kind of do it is. Small dogs can't jump over the hurdles. Bigger dogs like St Bernards are to lazy to jumy through. If you want get a lab or a Golden Retreiver. If you want to try with the dog you have. Try what it says below.
Tunnels- Try getting a tunnel and push it easiley through. It soon it will learn. You can probly find them at a toy store.
Hurdles- Try holding a treat or it's favorite toy on the other side of the hurdel. Then pick it up over the hurdle. It will soon learn.
Seesaws- First get the dog on the seesaw. Then hold the treat or it's favorite toy in front of it. Then drag it to the end of the seesaw. But stop in the middle so the so the seesaw will go down.
Slamom- If you don't konw what this is it's the poles that the dogs zig zag through them. Get a treat or toy and zig zag through the poles.
You can also get a nintendo ds. and get a game called nitendogs. You can enter the dogs in aglity triels. You can learn that way.
If your looking where you can enter your dog you can go to a pet store and ask them. They might know. You can also ask a neighber.

I'd suggest calling a large local obedience training school. Most of them have connections with Agility Groups. Also depending on the size of the city you live in look it up in the Yellow Pages. Alot of people do it just for the fun they have with their dog and the exercise it gives them and their dog. You might be surprised how much u and your dog might like it and really get into it. Good Luck. Oh also I have found some interesting sites on the Net for basic training.

There is most likley a local dog club in your area many do agility training classes.
If you can find one start there and from there you can mke some of the jumps and weave poles and such at home and work at home.
I have two freinds who have agility dogs and they train both at home and with an all breed dog club.

If you're looking to compete, go to local AKC shows, expecially if they also have obedience trials and ask around the show rings (don't approach people as they're about to go into the ring).
A first few things you might want to do, especially if you want to seriously do agaility, is get some obedience titles on your dog, that way your dog will behave out on the field and has documentation that they know the commands (heck, while you're at it, get the dog's CGC).
If you're looking to do it just for fun, check out some local dog parks, or even some agility training groups (look for schutzhund) and let them know you're just looking to do it for fun with the dog, not to compete.

im not sure what you're trying to get your dog to do, but as a pet owner, you have to know that your dog's only motivation is pleasing you, so whatever you want her to learn to do, you have to do it with her and encourage her if you want it to work.
