Tell them that they'll win more people to Christianity by BEING Christians... Stop trying to force it down our throats. That will only make us hate you.

I'll bet that if someone were trying to give you an expensive diamond bracelet, you wouldn't hesitate.
And yet, what the "zealot" is trying to give you is worth ever so much more than diamonds.
When a Christian is trying to share his/her faith with you, they are not trying to be obnoxious. They are trying to give you the best they have.
If you are understanding and patient, and quietly explain to them that you have already heard the gospel message, and have already made up your mind, they ought to leave you alone.
I really don't understand why people get so upset about this. Nobody can force you to believe anything, anyhow, and most Christians will go away if you ask them to. The very worst thing they can do is to pray for you....

I tell them I am not religious and I dont appreciate them trying to force their religion on me. yes I do know all about the bible I have a long line of Minister/Priest in my family. Am I going to hell for not accepting God? NO cause I dont believe in hell therefor I can't go there and If I do so what thats my problems not theirs. They believe what they want and let me do the same. So go do their bible thumping elsewhere!
Thats what I tell them.

Religious zealots are not living in the real world, hence they do not behave like normal people living in the real world. They are delusional and try suck others into their delusion - delusion loves company. If they don't respond to a polite decline of interest, tell them in a less polite manner.

I hate when they do that to me. To get rid of them I tell them I'm Catholic and not interested in their religion.If they insist and tell me I'll burn in hell I tell them I'll meet them at the gate. Why do they do this and push their religion? They have no respect for boundaries. Their lives are so twisted up in their religion because with out it they have nothing and are lost. I pity them.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes, if I'm bored, I'll debate with them. I've even counter-converted a couple in my time.
Most of the time I just tell that that I consider their religion to be perfectly valid for them, but that they will never convince me that it is the only valid path for everyone, and that if they want to waste several hours or days, they're welcome to.

Just close the door. You will never get a fanatic to change. Ignoring them is best. That way they won't shoot you to send to to Heaven, (christians or to the 17 virgins (muslim). All fanatics are the same --- they all believe they and only they have the truth----dangerous, just like Nazis........

hi "
the best answer was tell them that it is fine for them and that your happy for them to have their faith to rely on ,but that you also have great faith in what you believe and wish them well .
and close the door walk away or whatever .
i also love debate and yet it seems always the same pat answers "quotes from the bible "interpreted as they see fit .
i can do that too :}

I'm always promoting some local political candidate and carry their literature. When a religious zealot approaches me, I listen briefly and then introduce my candidate. If they cut me off, I cut them off - and they understand why.
