My husband was in an auto accident in Florida on 8/28 and when we received the crash report yesterday from FHP it has many errors in it not to my husband's advantage. What type of attorney do I need for his and does anyone know one in the New Port Richey area that will take payments?

The best thing you can do is find witnesses that support your husband's version of how it happened. Any evidence that he has will also help, like if he took pictures.

Good luck!

You can try to get the police to correct the errors yourself. However, the insurance company won't just use the police report in the making of the liability decision. If these are serious factual errors, you should try to get them corrected, but it may not make a difference if the other evidence gathered indicates your husband is at fault.

If you feel you need an attorney, that's fine, but remember this free legal advice you get here is worth what you paid for it.

Why do you need a lawyer? Accident report is just that -- a REPORT made by the officer. Unless he witnessed the accident it will be considered just a report. Errors happen all the time -- try contacting the officer and tell him/her where you feel errors are on the report. They change them all the time. A lawyer will just take big piles of your money and do nothing. They have NO interest in something they cannot make $100,000.00 on.

Try to find an Accident and Injury attorney. Can't help with a name but I can tell you that many of these guys will do a free consultation. It will be short and sweet but it should give you some idea of where you stand.

Why do you assume that you need a lawyer? You might be paying big bucks for nothing and if he is liable for the accident you lose all ways round. I have a solution, just tell the truth.

One that knows accident litigation.

Sounds like you're defending your husband - who may have been at fault.
