No.
Lesser cats can purr, they cannot roar or growl.
The Great cats can roar and growl, but they can't purr.
So your kitten is MIGHTIER than a Lion in that regard. So let your kitten PURR.

sometimes a cat can get a virus that makes their purr VERY loud, like a chainsaw. my vet gave her some antibiotics, said he could see some very fine bumps in her mouth & throat. They went away and her purr became normal again.
If you open its mouth and cant see any tiny red marks, it could just be that after so much purring, it might have the equivalent of a "dry throat" and just be a bit hoarse.
If the purring becomes VERY loud, please have it checked, as it can be a virus like it was with Lizzie.
By the way, don't be surprised the first time you see it open its mouth and make a strange clicking like noise in its throat, dont think that it's choking.....I panicked the first time, until I saw she was looking at a Moth, and that strange clicking / crackling noise is the way they let each other know that they have found an interesting prey for them to hunt down...

no one knows, for sure, what purring is all about. It appears to be a 'happy' response, but cats also purr when injured and suffering, which indicates that it's something they do for comfort.
I've never heard of long term purring being a problem. If the cat appears healthy, it's all good.

I've never heard that before but I'm no vet so I don't want to say "its fine" Im sure your cat would have another way of showing you s/he was unhappy.
I love it when my Charly and Frodo purr...

he's definitely a touch irritated besides the undeniable fact that the pets are properly worth it to him. you're interrupting his little kitty ideas even as he's on the thanks to do something. in case you want to stay away from his being a touch irritated, %. a niche and call him to it. Then he can imagine its his theory to come back to you to be petted. it truly is not too stressful to him because he might want to face up and go away.

Yes that is natural sometimes cats let their guard down and the demon that resides within every cat shows itself. That's when they are most vulnerable that' when you must destroy the creature before it destroys You!or at least pisses on everything.
