Yes, sin separates us from God.

God hates sin, but loves the sinner.

We can be forgiven if we come to God with a sincere repentant heart, and be assured of eternal life.

I think the idea is that if you truly believe in God and Jesus then you WON'T sin. Theres a certain understanding a person gets when they really believe that turns them off to sin so they become less and less inclined to do so. Ultimately, their world view changes and they're sent on the "right" path, so to speak. This is at least coming from what I've come to understand, but maybe its not the same for everyone else.

But yeah, being a complete dick and then cowering under the cheap idea that God will let it go even if you won't is sort of a cop-out in my opinion. You believe and then your actions reflect it.

If you believe in Jesus, then you believe in sin, and the evil of sin. So yes, it does matter.

Most who choose to believe spend some time investigating and learning about what it is they believe in. Read the New Testiment and what Jesus says about sin. There are great stories he told that makes it easy to understand.

Yes sins really matter. Shall we continue to sin in order to let grace abound ? GOD forbid. We are predestined to be conformed to the image of Jesus. Sin and Jesus don't mix. Will we sin? Yes. Do we want to? God forbid. Repentance is the very beginning of our walk with Christ. If we don't have a desire to repent then we stand before GOD on our own Merritt. Its up to you.

GOD bless ya.

Yes, they matter.

Belief is not the same as living faith. If you have living faith, you see--acutely--the effect of sin in your life, and you ask God to help you overcome the character flaws that lead to sin. Recognizing and coming to loathe our failings is a part of working out our salvation--so in this, sins matter.

If one believes and does not engage in working out his or her salvation, that person does not get to experience what the walk with Christ does in the human soul.

Yes, sins matter very much.
If you say you are a Christian, and yet deliberately disobey God, you are a liar.
You have "taken the Lord's name"...that is, you have called yourself by His name..."in vain"...your "Christianity" is empty and vain.
