Those guys haven't released a brand new car in ages, which seems odd since they're bankrolled by GM, which irks of what happened to rover before BMW offloaded them.

All my opinion, but I don't think so...
The new 9-3 came out in 02, which only makes it 4 years old. The 9-5 is older, coming out in 97 however being facelifted in 01 - which is as good as a new model (just ask VW!) And being face lifted again with blinged lights. They have recently come up with a fantastic looking concept super car. And (I think) are releasing, or preping the idea of the 9-7 which is a 4x4 to rival Volvo's XC90.

So, concept cars and maybe new models, nah, this car company is staying around. And I'm sure Swedes aren't prone to make the same mistakes as British car company Management!

Just my opinion though.

There's that saying some times better the devil you know! also the other one tried and tested and if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I guess saab have this mentality, they build quality reliable safe cars, Trucks and Aeroplanes, yes parts cost more cos they're better quality and last longer!
Rover on the other hand why the devil did I buy this! I'm tired and this is testing me! and it's broke again it's a waste of time to fix it!
Comparing rover to saab is like comparing a roller to a mondeo!

no mate, saab definateley isnt rover... their cars dont fall apart, you can get the spares, and they dont depreciate in value...
using your argument harley davidson are in the same boat, they havent actually released a new engine in 80 years... they may have modified it, but its still an air cooled Vee Twin.

when youve got a good product you stay with it. ducati and moto guzzi still use engines designed inthe 60's.

rover went to the wall because of inept management. (story of the british auto industry) the workforce were always great, a bit bolsy at times, but hey did a good job, with the cut price bits they had.

no ohter marque would use the same doorhandles on a morris marina, as they did on their flagship range rover... they cheapskated...cut so many corners all they did was run around in circles.. and it bit them...

Saab very rarely release new cars coz thy like to get them right when they are released. They wont go broke though like Rover as they sell a steady number of cars every year and usually release special editions at regular intervals that boost sales.

I hope not.

Don't think Rover tried charging 300 quid for a service either.

lets just say no.

saab is to rover what ferrari is to renault, diffrent class.

if the current production line is very marketable why change it, typical example of this can be seen in the airline industry i.e. boeing 747.
