depends on many factors
1-Role: mig 29 is mainly an interceptor so u cant throw a mig into deep strike or behind enemy lines...because it has short rage and consumes fuel very fast!...but as an interceptor no other plane can match it or beat it!!
2-Training: some pilots can be traine to withstand high gss during combat maneuvers
3-Equipment : the F-16 is electronically advanced an ease to use wich will make the pilot focused on the mission but the su27s electronics is a little bit not modern wich makes the pilot focused on many things
4-Maintenance Migs and Sukhois are easier to maintain!
5- Tactics: "Knowledge is power"...know your enemies weaknesses and play on it and improve your positives!!
6- Example: in the Arab israeli wars of 1973 egyptians with Retarded Mig 17 and Mig 21 shotdown Modern israeli Fighters like A4 skyhawk and mirage 3 and f4 phantom ..although the isralei phantoms where capable than Egyptian Mig 17.....
7-In case of India Vs pakistan ..it is how u can use your weapon whether it was advanced or retarded!!!...and thats make a big difference!!
8- Dont forget battle of britain !!!the largest air battle in history!!....the second largest was the Egyptians Vs israelis in1973!!!.....all battles where won not by advanced aircrafts but by tactics!!!

one on one, the sukhoi and mig are no match against an F-16 and J-10. china also has a lot of pilot training, experience, and new technology, so that should even up any gaps.
against china, the best india can do is diplomacy. play nice, because india's airforce is too small vs. china.

sukhois are really good.. compared to f16s
but the newer sukhois are kick ***
but the migs should be dismantled and sold as scrap

Not bad, but the American gear is better than the Soviet in general (depends on maint./pilot training and other things as well though.)
