water colours so romantic for me,, have ideas flowing

I don't know whos quote that is but I've been an artist for many years, and have to say Medium is "AN" integral part certainly, but not "THE" entire structure of art. Actually we create art in our minds initially, so then it could be said that no medium is used to begin a composition.

The mediums may not be limitless, but are vast, and subject matter might just be limitless.

What it takes to create art goes far beyond just the medium, and/or any subject matter. I'm sure I need not list them here, but any artist who is of any value to themselves or others, knows very well, the ingredients used to create.

Yes each artist has special gifts with which they create their art. Each also has certain medium they chose to use for this. Some use only one; others use mixed medium.
