Pimples are infection of the pore caused by dirt and bacteria. Puss is the infection.

It's called sebum, an oil from the sebaceous glands. It collects at the openings to the glands, hardens and closes off the natural flow of oily secrection, causing blackheads or cysts to develop. Sometimes the area will become filled with leukocytes that cause pus to accumulate and pimples develop. I hope that I helped with your question.
