You can add a one line statement something like:

All items for which you have placed the winning bid must be paid for the night of the auction by cash, check, or credit card (state cards that are accepted.)

Most people will know they are expected to pay that night, but it's a good idea to be clear about what forms of payment you are going to accept.

We do several auctions for our charity. On the invitations, we simply state, "All items must be paid in full at the termination of the auction or the item(s) will default to the next highest bidder. Cash, checks and (list credit cards accepted, if any) are acceptable." It's worked well for us. I believe in the 10 years I've been involved, we've only had one person not pay... but then he was trying to bolster the bids and ended up with more than he bargained for!

Tell them CASH PAYMENTS ONLY. Also, tell them they must PAY ON PREMISES UPON RENDERING OF MERCHANDIZE
