Okay, this seems like a dumb question but it has come up many many times. When a guy and a girl hug goodnight I guess you could say, who's arms go where? Evenmore-so, if the guy is only a few inches taller than the girl does that make a difference?

Ther really isn't a formality to it, its just whatever the people feel liek doing, but generally if he is a foot or more taller than you the girl puts her arms around his waist because she can't reach his neck comfortably.

If your girlfriend and boy friend anything goes and if your not you should hug to the side of the female so there is little to no contact it is a respect thing plus with child abuse running crazy theses days it protects all parties . Now as for the tallness and where should you put your arms around her waste would be OK if there is enough space or stand on a foot stool lol and hug her around the neck like most folks do. Very tricky for sure Good Luck wasn't a dumb question we ran into this at our church with the teenagers who were always hugging the older men not out of lust or anything its just what you do in church and it made a few girls uncomfortable so we straightened it out with one or two men and the problem was solved.

well height does make a difference, when I hug my friend celeste (6'3", and I'm only about 5'10") then it's hard for my arms not to go below hers? I think that it's actually usually that way though, unless there's a gigantic height difference.

I think is hard to know , u two need to work it out, My bf is 6 ft and I am only 5'3 I felt hard to hungging all the time. I think better find a short bf and wear high shoes......LOL GOOD LUCK

no not really if i hug a guy one arm up one down. if i hug a girl both arms down and hers over my shoulders. its just easier way to hug someone who is shorter than you and its a more kinda sorta intimate hug.
