Lead was outlawed in can making long ago. Dents are OK in cans but BULGES ARE NOT!!! If bulged discard immediately or risk fatal botulism poisoning. If just dented and not split open anywhere then it's OK.

As there is NO lead in the construction of the can I would seriously doubt that you could EVER develop lead poisoning. Cans used for the packaging of food are steel lined with tin. Dents are nothing to worry about. If it bulges throw it away because it's full of harmful/deadly bacteria.

No. Food cans are made from aluminum.
Dented cans mean that the stock boy dropped them. The food is fine.

If the can is bulging outwards, that is a problem. Bacterial growth.

we do not use lead in canned foods anymore. but it may have leaked which is unlikely. if it is puffed out then do not eat what ever is in there. but if it just got dropped and you know what is in there go ahead if you can get it opened.
