Could one of the side-effects possibly be a temporary decrease in metabolism?
(I've never heard of this before, and I am not basing it on anything - it just came to mind out of nowhere, so now I am just wondering).
Does anyone know for *sure*?

No, it will not cause weight gain. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX), thereby reducing pain, inflammation, and fever. If you have a sudden weight gain, you should see your family doctor immediately.

The consumption of any drug can effect different people different ways. It is possible that it could cause you to retain fluid in your body.

Advil or ibuprofen does not cause weight gain. I take it everyday and I'm fine!

No it wont but it can affect your kidneys
