First of all, reject all concepts and labels. Just get rid of them. They will tie you down to this world and keep you from being spiritually free. Second, get rid of desire. Desire always brings suffering. Lastly, show compassion to others, and try to help them as best you can. Meditate on these ideas often and you will feel more at peace.

wisdom and knowledge are fine goals to have. study and discussion help tremendiously. in order to find inner peace i find meditation works best for me. personally, i like to be outside in a quiet serene place with few distractions where i can close my eyes and just relax and contemplate on a particular issue which comes to mind. try to listen as sooner or later a response will be forthcoming.

What makes you think there's "inner peace" to be found, and what makes you think you should look for it? Maybe inner compassion, inner sympathy, inner love, inner suffering for the suffering world? Why be at peace? Be loving, be angry. The goal of life is not bliss -- it's righteous action.

Easy... the first step is to eliminate 'belief'... the illusion that you know the 'truth' pertaining to certain fundamental aspects of existence and reality. Belief is an insidious mind-killer... it cuts one off from the open-minded consideration of alternative possibilities.
Wisdom, essentially, is knowing that you do not know. Once you have tricked yourself into thinking that you DO know (religious belief), you are essentially screwed... you will never achieve 'wisdom'.

Read a chapter a day of the book of Proverbs and meditate on it. Over a period of time your life will adhere to the truths contained therein.

How about reading a verse of Proverbs each day. Proverbs is found in the old testament of the Bible, next to Psalms.

You could start with Demian or Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. They helped me understand what I already know.
