my daughter likes to have or play with the stuff i have. i guess it's cuz she wants to be like her mommy. :) that makes me happy until she breaks my stuff. it's like she's not satisfied until whatever she has of mine is broken.
it's mostly little stuff like lip gloss, makeup, jewelry...
i know i shouldn't let her play with my stuff anymore...and that's not my question....
she gets upset when she breaks my things, but why does she have to use/play with it until it breaks??
by the way, she's 4 if that helps.

she does have play jewelery and her own real lip gloss. she's not content with it, she still likes mine.

Well, since she's four...accidents hapen. I'd get her kids size makeup that comes in plastic containers and won't break.
Also, some kids "like" to get into trouble because it gets them the attention they want. Next time she breaks something, don't make a big deal out of it. Just say, "Please be careful next time" and clean up the mess. Don't yell or scold her loudly because that might be what she really wants.

I agree She is trying for attention. But there could be a bit of something else going on. I had problems with my daughter breaking things of mine and stealing change off of Hubby's dresser as well as some of my jewelry. I am assuming you daughter is younger then mine when She did these things. I would Not let her play with things that you do not want broke. Buy her some kiddies makeup kits. That would be her own then and see if She breaks those. Ok I see She is 4. Mine started early breaking things. The stealing came later.

have you tried getting her some cheaper versions of your stuff?? lip gloss, child make up set or costume jewelry??? I'm sure she doesn't mean to break the stuff but she just wants to be like you like you said before.

She wants you to be busy with her and nothing else. May be she is feeling being avoided at that moment. Engage her in something similar. for eg some unbreakable things which look like the things u are using and are being broken.

Because , She is testing you and you keep letting her break your stuff and she is watching your reaction to this and is getting attention from you

Face it, your stuff is breakable. When it breaks she can't play with it any more, but until then she is happy.

it time for her to visit the naughty chair, don't reward her negative behavior with attention
