there is no exercises linked with yoga. yoga-asanas are for preparing the body to be get purified. the inner organs are benefited.

exercises makes bulges to the outer muscles only.
yoga-asanas rinses the inner organs into purity.

nowadays there is a lot of information available on yoga. try to refer some book and practice some asanas.

Flexibility, strength and balance. To me those are the key benefits of yoga, and the aim of most of the postures or asanas.

The mental aspect isn't required.
