If I may, Their calendar has predicted quite a few things that have come true,
Do you think that the future has anything to do w/ E.T.'s and time travel ?

It's hard to say what, if anything will happen in 2012. Yes, according to the Mayan calendar - or, according to how we've translated it - the end of the current "cycle" (which we've interpreted to mean "world") will occur in 2012. Whether the date is in December or February is still up in the air, but either way, the year is something that scholars can readily agree on.

As for what will happen, it is hard to say. Remember that this calendar was made so far in antiquity that we really don't have any way of knowing just what its creators thought would happen - so now we can only put our own perspective on it. Will there be planetary destruction? Perhaps. Will mankind learn to get along in a spirit of cooperation and harmony? Also possible.

Let's just leave it at this: I'm waiting to see what's going to happen, just like you are.

It doesn't "predict" anything. It's a calendar. Calendars just measure time.
According to how the Mayan Long Count calendar measures time, on 12-21-2012 in OUR calendar, theirs will enter the 13th Baktun (a baktun is 396 years long) like our calendar going from 1999 to 2000. This isn't a prediction or a prophecy, it's a simple fact.
Also on that same day, there is a once-in-26,000 year astronomical alignment between the Milky Way and the Sun at dawn. To the Maya, this signified the start of a new world age. That is also not a prediction or prophecy, it's just their world view.

The Maya calendar is actually a system of distinct calendars and almanacs used by the Maya civilization of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica.

These calendars could be synchronised and interlocked in complex ways, their combinations giving rise to further, more extensive cycles.

The Mayan Calendar is not predicting the end of the world 2012, but the start of a new era; the golden age. http://www.experiencefestival.com/mayan_calendar

So many theories. Here is one site that was interesting.
In a way it's like saying:"How can I be out of money I still have checks left!" It has been theorized claimed etc that ET's gave them this information. What may be good for some might be bad for others. The bible says that the meek shall inherit the earth. I would consider some survival skills regardless.
