I have an australian cattle dog and yes they do shed. Not constantly, but at times a lot of hair does come out of this animal. Brushing regularly is a must to keep your house free of hair. I also have a labrador and her shedding is quite worse. On a scale of horrible to nothing they're about in the middle. You don't need to cut a cattle dog's hair or take it to the groomer's it's pretty much wash and wear. You have to remember thta they were bred for HOT temperatures and climates that are colder require them to grow more hair.

All dogs will shed. Although the best way to minimize shedding is to keep your dog on a high quality dog food such as Canidae, Wysong, Innova, Wellness or Blue Buffalo. You can also put your dog on a coat supplement called Linatone Plus for healthy coat and skin. For the short haired breeds, a great grooming tool is called the Zoom Groom: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441779169&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026088&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1157906682256&itemNo=0&Ntt=zoom+grrom&In=All&previousText=zoom+grrom&N=2

She would be having an hypersensitivity to meals or whatever else you're giving her. ACDs have a dense undercoat so they're going to shed plenty. I have no idea in the event that they a inclined to dermis allergic reactions or no longer....if she is scratching herself so badly that she is breaking the dermis I might take her to the vet.

It's all merely a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys such as it. And i prefer a man with short hair over a guy with long hair because long tresses tends to make guys look also girly.
