Most dogs do shed a bit, especially the double coated breeds. Labs can shed a lot. I have one. I find that brushing him once or twice a week with a shedding blade keeps down on shedding in the house and makes his coat healthier. Proper diet and grooming every 4 to 6 weeks contributes a lot to how much your dog sheds too.

Omit about respectable groomers for a Lab. They desire a excellent brush and brushing each few days (more when they're shedding) but no further unique remedies. Groomers will inform you one-of-a-kind due to the fact they need effortless money! Bathing the canine is not going to support both - simply dries out the coat. My Labs have at all times had stunning coats, good diet, endeavor and typical brushing does it. My advice is to additionally buy a high strength vaccuum cleaner - some Labs shed greater than others, but all of them shed a reasonable bit, especially during Autumn once they throw their winter coat! Wonderful puppies. Ought to say that a Greyhound's coat is way less difficult to maintain - barely shed in any respect (i have a Lab and a Greyhound).

All dogs shed their coats, but my Labrador Retriever takes a little more brushing then my pit bull. I brush him once a day and vacume him twice a week. He actually loves the vacume and it makes things easier. As long as you keep up with it there is no problem.

I have a black lab and I think he sheds more than any other dog I have ever had. Long or short hair. If I don't vaccum at least once a week, my rainbow vaccum cleaner gets clogged with his hair after about 5 minutes use. On my dry floors, on my bed, on the sink, everywhere I find his hair abundantly. Love the big goofy dog inspite of all of that hair loss though

I've had a yellow lab and a black lab and both have shedded like crazy. They also have the kind of hair that is almost impossible to get off of furniture or your car seats.

Labrador Retrievers & Rottweilers are probably the biggest shedders of all the breeds.

My lab shed a lot. I find that my brittany spaniel doesn't shed as much and he's a lot easier to train.

labs shed a lot..their coats may not look that long, but they are very dense. if you want a dog that doesn't shed or doesn't shed that much, a lab probably isn't for you.
