Also, what are some of the language differences....meaning, I know some words like "fanny" don't mean the same thing in England that they do here in America. Don't want to say something and embarrass myself! lol, thanks for the answers!

Some mistakes I made whilst in England:
English to American
"spunk" means "sperm"
"wrench" means "hoar"
"slag" can mean "hoar"
"nob" can mean "penis"

American to English
"rubber" means "eraser"

signs:
Two fingers up in a "V" with the back of the hand is like giving someone the middle finger. If you show the front of the hand as in a peace sign, that is acceptable.

There are lots of other ones that are too many to mention here, such as
"windscreen"="windshield"
"chips"="french fries"
"crisps"="potato chips"
"boot"(car)="trunk"(car)
"zebra crossing"="cross walk"
"Aubergine"="Eggplant"
etc.
I actually made a whole list on a file if you want to see them...

when you leave or enter a building, it is polite to hold it open for the next person

my advice while in London: don't eat your treats in a Starbucks or some other coffee houses! Get them to go..they charge approx. .40 pence more for you to sit inside and eat!! CRAZY but true.

some restaurants include tip and others do not, be sure to check your bill to be sure.

they have 'round-abouts'instead of intersections-freaky.
every region has it's own set of greetings. In Essex, everytime someone walked into a room, whether or not they'd just gone to get a drink or to the washroom, everyone said "You A'right?"

Pubs offer the best food! Tesco stays open 24 hours.

Have fun!

I think you are going to England and have some concerns.
If you are not invited to eat with Royalty, I'm sure you wont offend anyone by mistake. If it is not considered in terrible taste to you, it wont be to them either. Try to be casually polite in your interactions, and you'll be fine. The world is a much smaller place now than when Queen Victoria's standards were proper. Most people live casually and with a modicum of grace. You'll be fine.

I think "shag" means something to the British other than a carpet style.

Dont say hello hear in england, We take that as a threat and you could be put to jail for the rest of your life. Instead we say 'ello'ello'elo in a old cockney english accent.

Do not talk in a american accent since we hate people who steal our empire.

Do not wear a bra, its considred bad manners in some high classes
