Hypnosis can be used with anyone that has an attention span, with little or no side effects. Without joking, some of the side effects of hypnosis can be a headache, sadness from having released painful memories, disorientation from the deep relaxation, peace, happiness and a release from negative emotions. Most of the time the negative side effects will pass within a few minutes to a couple of days. The positive feelings are more prolonged or can stay indefinitely.

When hypnosis is used for surgery or more likely pre and post surgery it can bring a person a better sense of well-being and motivation to heal. This on it's own can promote healing. If the elderly person can focus and is lucid he/she can be hypnotized. If they are in pain and suggestions of pain relief are given, they feel great without resistance. The benefits are tremendous and there are no negative side effects from this.

In fact, hypnosis was used before any anesthetic was invented to amputate and remove tumors. Just do a search for Dr. James Esdaile and you will see the incredible work he did. Hypnosis can be used alone for surgery there is little or no pain if the coma hypnotic state is reached and recovery is quicker because suggestions of recovery are given. I've used hypnosis post surgery and pre-labor and women spring back rather quickly.

There is more on hypnosis on www.improveyourselfhere.com. Especially the program called Nourishing Connection which helps use the mind to heal the body.

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, contact me.

Hypnosis can be dangerous. I would research this well before doing it. It's not a good idea.

Hypnosis can substitute for anesthesia. Ihave seen it, however I personally would opt for the real thing.
