I've had depression for about a year now, but it comes and goes, it stays for about a day, i get it from out of no where, i could be sitting down and next thing i know im depressed, Is this normal? I dont know what triggers it, i never had it before untill during my pregnancy and after it too. I do have things to be depressed about but i try not to pay attention and i dont get depressed or worried about many things so i know its not a trauma im depressed about, so is this normal that it comes out of no where ?? and then it goes away?? Does this happen to anyone?

My wife had postpartem depression with my third kid. It came without reason, and the drugs actually numbed her for a little while. I believe it was a chemical imbalance. My son is allergic to wheat. I wonder if something about that caused my wife to become depleted of some nutrient that it needed.

I see two solutions. 1. get depression drugs from doctors. It won't last forever. 2. eat the foods that make you happy for a few days and see what happens. Your body may be low on something it needs.

My wife got rid of her depression. It may have been time, but I think that it was partly with a change in diet (a NAET specialist helped), and partly to do with the prayer she got about anxiety. God healed her. But that only works for so long, because Jesus said they come back if you don't change your lifestyle. For more on the spiritual aspect of these kinds of problems, I point you here:
