The chances of an "invading army" trying to conquer Britain through the Channel Tunnel are slim to no-existant. These days we are officially friends with the snail eating, garlic smelling surrender monkeys. God knows why, but we are. And there's really not a lot to fear from the French millitary anyway. Just google "French millitary victories" and you'll see what I mean.

I suppose it's possible that the Krauts might decide to kick off again but they'd have to get through plucky little Belgium first. That would take all of 10 minutes - so we'd just drop a couple of nukes on them before they reached the Channel.

Who else have we got to worry about? The Russians are more likely to have a pop at the Chinese. The Americans are always a possibility - we all know how they tend to invade the wrong country. However they're a little short of troops right now.

I think I've offended enough foreigners now...... The answer to your question is that in a national emergency the Channel Tunnel can be sealed at the half way point. We're not going to flood it but we can make sure no one can get through if we don't want them to.

Any 14 year old mischievous teenager has the ability to flood the channel tunnel. Though in this day and age, you’d more than likely have some commercial company taking over the CCTV and broadcasting it on ITV as ‘reality tv’ to spice things up, occasionally they’d throw in Paul Dannan and offer the invading army several task to complete before they can move onto the next stage.

The survivors are treated to a Royal shooting commanded by some obscure distant Royal who‘s lacking in his/her public image.

That would be breaking the rules of War. Plus they would be really stupid, how are they going to get out of the tunnel with the the whole of Britain waiting for them. The French would not let them go that far anyway. We would have to talk to them first, we share the tunnel and are allies with France. In NATO as Well. Each City, town and village is ready to be invaded and a emergency chain of command is ready to cope. We are no Fools.

the indisputable fact that Britain is an island has formed its historic past considering a minimum of the Bronze Age, in all probability even added back than that. get rid of the English Channel, and the process millennia of historic past is altered. it extremely is common to assert that the Channel did no longer precisely pounce on the Germans. that they had a common inkling of its life. till their maps are some 15000 years previous. would to boot ask if the Germans would have beat the Russians if Moscow substitute into closer Berlin.

Why. France is a country that we need to continue to build relationships with, why would you want to flood the channel tunnel.

Don't be silly !!!!!!!!

If such a thing happened they would just blow the whole thing up!

There must be all kinds of service tunnels etc around the main tunnels, so I am sure that there are already plans to destroy it if something like that happened.

(more than likely when the enemy force was halfway across and unable to get back!)

I'm sure there must be a method, just as there were for blowing the bridges on the Rhine. It would be more important for the tunnel as the french would probably direct the enemy towards it and us.

Is your adopted name a sign?
Who is going to invade you, the French???
They are very happy with France, thank you very much.
Just try to use common sense. Anybody invading would do it by sea, just like the Normans, or by air, but that didn't work for the Germans.
