i have sent email to skysports and the bbc, itv and channel 5 pleading with them to buy the right to pridefc, in vain probably , but if enough people request to see it maybe just maybe we will get to see some class mma on uk tv. so i ask all you mma fans to email skysport bbc and any other tv broadcasters and demand to see pridefc on our tellys

First of all, I'm not sure this question belongs in a boxing forum. Not sure that PRIDE *wants* to be on free TV in the UK--since they don't have plans to promote live events there I can't see that they've got a vested interest in increasing their exposure. Here in the states, they run highlight shows of previous PRIDE events on FoxSportsNet but that serves to promote their PPV broadcasts here in the US, plus they're planning to run live events here (with the first in Las Vegas this October). Not sure what the PPV availability is in the UK, but I'd guess that they'd rather have you paying for that. If that's not available to you, they'd rather have you buy their DVDs.
Hate to say this, but I'm afraid you're fighting a losing battle here. I know I'd like to see more cricket and English Premier League soccer on US TV, but I don't know if that would ever happen. I'm thinking that your situation wanting more MMA on British TV is probably similar. Hopefully at some point PRIDE will have a streaming video capacity for their live events like the UFC recently added. That way you can at least watch their PPV's live--something that we don't even have here in the states yet, at least for their Japan based events.

young man i admire your tenacity. i myself am a former mma on the amatuer/illegal circut. i have a plate in the back of my skull from a rather vicious stamp from an iriate irish traveller who lost money on his man! mma isn't pretty i have a 3rd dan in ju jitsu and still got the bejasus kicked out of me. how far will pride be allowed to progress on normal television. they will ruin the sport, sakabura may as well wear boxing gloves and keep punches high.
